BUAT Gallery presented Visual Matter ’26, a curated international group exhibition dedicated to contemporary painting, mixed media and fine art photography.

Held in Barcelona from 23 to 26 July 2026, the exhibition brought together artists working across different visual languages, techniques and cultural perspectives. The project explored the relationship between image, material, light, colour and composition, creating a dialogue between figurative, abstract and photographic practices.

About the Exhibition

Visual Matter ’26 examined the expressive potential of contemporary image-making through painting, mixed media and photography.

The exhibition brought together works exploring memory, identity, nature, architecture, personal transformation and the relationship between the visible world and inner experience.

Each artwork was selected through curatorial review, with particular attention to artistic quality, originality, visual coherence and professional presentation. The exhibition was installed to give every work an individual presence while creating meaningful connections between the participating artistic practices.

Opening Night

The opening night of Visual Matter ’26 took place on 23 July 2026 at BUAT Gallery in Barcelona.

Artists, collectors, art professionals and guests gathered to discover the exhibition, meet participating artists and experience the works within the gallery setting.

The evening became a meeting point for different artistic perspectives and created an opportunity for direct conversation between artists, visitors and members of Barcelona’s international cultural community.
